No More Stomach Flu at Our House

a picture of high fiber food sources; whole wheat, fruit, vegetables

Fiber carries out toxins and fat and contributes to a healthy digestive tract.

My family used to get the stomach flu every once in a while every year until we made some major dietary changes. When we switched to eating a lot more high-fiber foods such as whole grains, beans, fruits, and vegetables and a lot less of the cholesterol-containing foods, we noticed a big difference in our health.

In a recent previous post, I shared a remote incident when my husband and I got e coli poisoning from some peanut butter Cliff Bars.

I’ve wondered why we don’t get the stomach flu at all anymore. I never see my family members having problems with vomiting or diarrhea – and it has been years.

The only thing I can think of is what it was like before; when we weren’t as strict. As friends, neighbors, and co-workers get the bug, we seem to be immune year after year.

The only thing I can think of is that I never buy milk, ice cream, big blocks of cheese, hamburger, fish, chicken, or any meat at the grocery store. That doesn’t mean that we absolutely never consume any of that stuff.

But, if we do it’s sparingly; few and far between like at a restaurant, fast food place or a social event.  And, our immunity could be from the use of activated charcoal capsules if we do start to have a bit of a stomach ache.
