Getting e coli or other type of food poisoning is extremely painful to your digestive system and can be life threatening. You could die from it. But, quick relief is available.

In the winter of 2010, we got a call from Costco saying that the peanut butter Cliff Bars that we had bought two months ago had e coli poisoning, and we should throw them all out.

Well, we had already eaten them all months ago and were actually fine. Here is our story and what we did.

How We Overcame E Coli Poisoning

One day, my husband ate one of the Cliff Bars and said it tasted funny. He ate it anyway, then he came home from work early saying that he had the worst stomach ache of his life. We got the activated charcoal capsules out and he took six of them with a cup of water.

Activated Charcoal Capsules

Activated charcoal not only helps with food poisoning, but is also used in water filters.

He went to bed to rest and felt all better within twelve hours and went to work again the next day. Then, I got similarly sick and when he came home, he brought me six of the capsules. I took three then and three later and was soon better within twelve hours.

About Activated Charcoal

It works and is safe and mild. But, don’t be alarmed if you are already in the throwing up or vomiting mode, and everything comes out all black. You were going to throw up anyway, the activated charcoal does not induce vomiting. Just because you were already going to throw up doesn’t mean the AC pills caused it.

My husband and I never threw up from them. We took the capsules at the first sign of a severe stomach ache.

Activated charcoal expands to many times its size and absorbs toxins and pathogens. It’s very inexpensive to use compared to spending some time in the hospital.

You can get activated charcoal from a nutritional supplement or health food store. Keep it in your first aid kit for future emergencies.

I don’t know everything about this whole topic, so if you are aware of  something else that works, please let us all know.  I’m open to any extra information you might have.
