Underlying Cause of Diabetes with Tips on Prevention and Reversal
This post is about the underlying cause of diabetes with tips on prevention and reversal. The biggest cause of diabetes is from consuming the wrong types of fat in the diet.
People who eat a lot of animal products and fattening desserts will be the most prone to getting diabetes. Normally, you are led to believe that sugar is the culprit.
But, when the fat coats the cells in the body, the cells are unable to receive the natural sugars needed for energy. Then, there is an unnatural accumulation of sugar in the blood.

These are some of the types of foods that you need to avoid if you don't want to become diabetic or if you want to reverse the condition.
Dr. Marc Sorenson wrote a book called Mega Health in which he shared an experiment that proved this phenomenon. There was a study on young men in which they were either given a high-sugar diet or a high-fat diet for a week.
The week of high sugar was not a problem, but the week of the high fat resulted in pre-diabetic states in many of the young men. Because of this and numerous research done, Dr. Marc Sorenson says that diabetes is a “fat” disease.
Most of the diabetic patients that went to Dr. Marc Sorenson’s National Institute of Fitness many years ago reversed diabetes within a month. One man, who’d been on insulin for five years was able to get off insulin in five days.
There are many other studies that have been done. You can click on the diabetic study that interests you most at this site, you will also find information on how a high-fiber, reduced-fat, vegan diet can really help to start the reversal.
So, the basic ways to prevent yourself from getting diabetes in the first place is to eat a more high-fiber diet with less of the animal products. It’s also good to become educated on the types of fats and oils which are either beneficial to good health or damaging.
Trans fats would be a definite fat to totally eliminate from the diet. The fats in animal products such as milk, cheese, and flesh can be a big contributing factor also. Some of the fats that could be considered healthy and not conducive to blood sugar problems would be those in plant foods that are unheated.
There are a lot of high-fiber foods that help to reverse or drastically cut a person’s tendency to become diabetic and these are beans, oats, and many vegetables and fruits. Usually, people who adopt a vegan lifestyle along with some regular exercise, notice that their blood sugar levels start to go down dramatically within the first week or month of following a strict regimen for their diet.
Dr. McDougall explains how the Maximum Weight Loss program helps a person to have better insulin control by eating high-fiber, no-fat foods.
The fiber helps to carry excess fat out. And the minimal amounts of fat in grains, beans, fruits and vegetables help a person to get the minimum daily requirement for good health without the adverse effects of insulin problems that come with too much of the wrong fats.
So, by following a high-fiber, plant-based diet, a person can not only prevent and reverse diabetes, but also become naturally trim. You can eat all you want of the high-fiber foods and never go hungry.
For more information on diabetes, see what Dr. McDougall says about it on this link. Remember the underlying cause of diabetes is the fat. And, if you implement these tips on prevention and reversal, you can be healthier.

Hi Janet. It’s good to see you have a web site up and running. It looks great. Are you still here in St. G?
I have been 99.9% vegan for 5.5 months now. I put the .9 because of unknown things that creep in. I just learned that they color cranberry juice with beetles to make it red. Who would have thought that?
I am no longer in pain from my fibromyalgia (spelling). I’ve got to go thru your blog more. Thanks for posting and sending it to me. Pattsy
Pattsy, that is awesome how well you are doing!
I’m sure you have learned a lot with your journey to health.
I learned recently that Red #3 has iodine which is good for your thyroid. I wonder if they got it
from that beetle or someplace else.
Janet
