If you ever take some time to read in a nutrition book about all the different kinds of vitamins and minerals there are and what foods are the best sources, you will notice that wheat is a good source for almost all of them.
Wheat has the best nutrition for humans. There is starch for energy, protein for growth and rebuilding, and abundant vitamins and minerals. Wheat is also great for preventing many diseases such as diabetes, breast cancer, heart disease and many other conditions.
The very best way to have wheat is in the sprouted form. Just barely sprouted wheat is sweet and kids like it for a snack. Wheat grass is used for wheat grass juice.
To make wheat grass juice, you would normally need a very expensive wheat grass juicer. The finished product tends to be so powerful in nutrition that some people feel nauseated or get a tingling in their mouth. To better be able to handle this and other detox problems, I have found that blending the wheat is a great alternative.
Wheat Grass Juice by Nutribuff
- 1 handful of 6″ tall freshly grown wheat grass
- 2 cups 100% fruit juice of your choice (reconstituted frozen is good)
Blend the ingredients and enjoy better health as you drink a more palatable drink. It may be a little foamy from the fiber. Just stir it up a bit. You can definitely enjoy the super-powerful, nutritious drink that is often used by health enthusiasts to fight cancer or alkalize their body.
Variation: Make a batch of mint tea and when it has cooled, use it in place of the juice for a more healthful drink. You can use some ice cubes to cool it of before blending it with the wheat grass juice. Use 2 tsp or 2 tea bags of dried peppermint or other tasty mint or herb/spice, then add it to 2 cups boiled water and steep 5-10 minutes.
Some people want to cut back on the fruit sugars. The fruit juice for the recipe can be very acidic since it is cooked. Too much fruit/juice in the diet can contribute to high levels of triglycerides.
