Finally Losing 4 Lbs. a Week and Feeling Energetic

Debra M. is finally losing 4 pounds a week and is feeling energetic for a change. She took my class this summer and sent me this testimonial to share with you:

Like so many people in America, I was confused as to how to lose weight. We hear so many different, conflicting information topics; carbs are good, carbs bad, fat is better than sugar, no -  sugar is better than fat.

Also like many people, I’ve been on every diet out there; Atkins worked short term, but I wasn’t able to sustain no-carb eating forever; South Beach was a great diet, I lost weight and I could stay on it; however, it required a lot of cooking, which cooking for one isn’t something I do consistently.

Losing weight maybe wasn’t the issue – it was maintaining the weight loss, sticking with a diet long term.  When I saw the Maximum Weight Loss class advertised in the Community Education brochure I was interested because I was now at my heaviest weight and knew it was time to try something else to get the extra pounds off.

I was also thinking -  this is probably a Vegetarian diet, which I thought I couldn’t do completely. Giving up animal products was never something I thought I wanted to do. I love meat, cheese, butter, sour cream, ice cream, all of it.

I thought I’ll take the class, learn some vegetarian cooking and maybe lean into more vegetarian eating. I was not thinking after one week into the class I would be eating a vegetarian diet, let alone a water-based vegan diet; however, after one week leaning into the diet I’d lost 4 lbs. and I was stoked.

I hadn’t lost 4lbs in one week ever on any diet. So the second week, I jumped in with both feet, stocked up on vegetables, gave up caffeine and all animal products. I lost another 4lbs – WOW!!

All kinds of vegetables in a basket

Water-based vegetables and wholesome starches like rice, corn, potatoes and beans are what make up this diet.

I’m now into the third week and I’m still enjoying the benefits of the diet. First of all, I don’t have to be hungry; I have plenty of choices and food to keep me satisfied.

Some of things I’ve noticed are that I don’t get as hungry like before on the SAD (Standard American Diet) diet where I would get grouchy and anxious to eat. Now I can get up and exercise before I eat.

I’ve never been able to do that, because I’ve never been a “morning” person. Now I feel like I have the energy and enthusiasm. I’ve actually had days when I felt too energetic and restless doing nothing, which is all I could manage on the SAD.

Lots of new energy to live life and with no more hypoglycemic feelings.

Now I can’t wait to continue on this eating plan, lose the extra weight I’ve been carrying for too many years now and to see my doctor in September for my annual exam. I know my cholesterol, blood pressure, and blood sugar will all be down.

I would definitely recommend anyone who wants to be healthier to attend one of Janet’s classes or get the Maximum Weight Loss book by Dr. McDoughall.

Here is another update from Debra copied from the Maximum Weight Loss tab at the top of the Nutribuff page.

Hi Janet,

I want to let you know that I’m continuing on the diet and it’s been 38 days now. I’ve lost 24lbs!! It’s amazing and I feel great. My energy level is so good that I’ve been able to exercise every day.

Thanks again for the great information and Dr. McDougall’s Maximum Weight Loss Diet,

Debbie

And, even after 8 months, she’s still enjoying the diet and benefits.

Hi Janet,
I thought I’d update you on my progress! Eight months later, and I’ve lost 47lbs and I’m eating totally vegan, mostly raw. I’m loving the weight loss and the energy I have now.

Thanks again for helping me get on the right track to improved health and a better life!

Debbie

Way to go Debbie! And, thanks for sharing.

I love the way this article is written. Its down to earth and describes many of the same things everyone else who has ever dieted has felt before. I wish you all the success possible and I plan on talking to Janet and getting that book also!
